Hollywood movie “Jurassic World” is about to rewrite world cinema history with ticket sales of $1 billion in the shortest time.
Media reports on Tuesday said the science fiction adventure film had accrued more than $980 million by Sunday. The movie has earned more than $420 million in North America and nearly $580 million from the rest of the world since its Los Angeles premiere on June 10.
If the trend continues, the movie will break the record of Hollywood action movie “Furious 7” (2015) earning $1 billion in 17 days.
“Jurassic World,” directed by Colin Trevorrow, is the fourth installment of the "Jurassic Park" franchise. It depicts fights between people and dinosaurs that were recreated using genetic manipulation for the "Jurassic World” theme park.
