Director Kim Ki-duk says his latest film, “One on One,” is based on a historical event. And he’s daring film buffs to pin down the exact incident, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
He’s offering 10 million won to the person who gives the right answer.
The film “is based on an incident that took place in recent years menacing democratic rights, but nobody ― no film critic or journalist ― has written a film review mentioning it.,” Kim was quoted as saying during a stage interview at the ongoing Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
“I will give 10 million won to anyone, even if it's an Internet user, who makes a close guess.”
The film, which ran at the Venice International Film Festival, revolves around the brutal murder of a high school girl. Seven suspects in the case are hunted down by seven members of a terrorist group called “Shadow.”
