The makers of “Squid Game 2” have apologized for the behavior of its production crew during a recent filming session at Incheon International Airport.
A representative of “Squid Game 2” said they were aware of complaints that had been lodged by passengers at Incheon International Airport during filming on Monday.
The official added, “We apologize for any inconveniences that may have been caused despite our best efforts to make passengers aware of the situation on the ground. We will exercise further caution during the filming process as we move forward.”
The controversy began when an online user posted a complaint over the behavior of the series' production crew. The user claimed that a staff member had blocked people from using an escalator and told them to turn back in a forceful tone without providing any explanation. The user pointed out that the staff should have informed them that filming was underway and politely asked them to take a detour at the very least.
Filming for the second season of the global hit series has kicked off recently, featuring a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Wi Ha-joon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, David Lee, Lee Jin-wook, T.O.P, No Jae-won, Won Ji-an and Gong Yoo.
The first season of Squid Game was first released on Netflix in September 2021. It became a runaway global success for its gripping story of a game of life and death, where contestants risk their lives for the chance to win a large sum of cash.
