Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol met with the heads of key finance ministry-affiliated institutions on Wednesday to emphasize the thorough implementation of government policy priorities, Koo's office said.
The meeting brought together the heads of the Korea Investment Corp., Korea Asset Management Corp., Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp. and the Korea Fiscal Information Service, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
"In light of the challenging domestic and global economic conditions, we need to enhance our growth potential through major transformations, such as the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI)," Koo said during the meeting.
The Lee Jae Myung administration earlier unveiled a five-year economic development blueprint that positions AI as a core growth engine and to foster what it calls a "super-innovation economy" driven by cutting-edge technologies and structural reforms.
The minister also stressed the importance of public outreach, noting that these institutions are at the forefront of policy implementation.
Koo added that the government will maintain close coordination with relevant agencies to steadily advance the realization of the super-innovation economy.
