MetLife Korea has launched "360Health," a comprehensive policy to revamp its healthcare service, the insurer said, Monday.

The Korean unit of the U.S.-based insurance giant said that the new policy enables customers to get a comprehensive service that supports them in the prevention of illnesses and offers access to treatment, ongoing care and financial support.

The new policy is MetLife's new health sub-brand launched in countries across Asia including Korea, China, and Japan.

“Through 360Health, MetLife aims to provide end-to-end health policies to help customers prevent, diagnose, treat, and manage illnesses,” the company said in a press release.

The firm said that an insurance policyholder whose coverage exceeds 50 million won ($43,718) gets access to the comprehensive healthcare service.

Available services are categorized into healthcare standard, healthcare family and healthcare premium.

"Our customers value their health and quality of life as they value lifespan," MetLife Korea CEO Song Yong-rok said.

"Through 360 Health, we will assist customers in leading a healthy, happy life."

The new service came after the insurer's survey recently found that 71 percent of Korean respondents said they would rather have a shorter, healthy life over a longer life with an illness.

Compared to the figures of Japan (53 percent) and China (65 percent), Koreans are more concerned about their quality of life than about how long they live.
