Dyson on Monday launched the latest edition of its Airwrap styler in the Korean market, marking its global debut. The new model offers faster, easier hair styling with greater versatility and double the air pressure of its predecessor.
During a launching event in Seoul, Dyson Korea showcased the new Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x (Airwrap 2x), an upgraded version of the company’s mega-hit hair styler and dryer, the Airwrap, which debuted in 2018.
“We always start with the problem to solve, and with our Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x, we wanted to make sure that we were pushing the brink of innovation and offering the opportunity for high performance and supercharged energy through our machine,” Dyson Beauty Global President Kathleen Pierce said during the event.

The Airwrap 2x distinguishes itself from its predecessor with its new Hyperdymium 2 motor, which the company said delivers twice the air pressure to wrap hair more easily and dries hair as fast as a full-performance hair dryer.
To achieve this, the company said it reengineered the motor from the ground and developed the company’s fastest and most powerful hair care motor, which spins up to 150,000 rpm or nine times faster than a Formula 1 car engine.
The Airwrap 2x features six styling attachments, including the AirSmooth2x, a clamp-type hair straightener introduced for the first time with this model. Unlike conventional straighteners, the new device uses only airflow to create straight yet voluminous hairstyles.
The Airwrap 2x also features an RFID-sensor chip technology, which allows each attachment to communicate with the dryer to instantly adapt to the best temperature and airflow settings. The attachments are preset with recommended airflow and heat settings but are customizable by the user using Dyson’s app.
The Airwrap 2x comes with six styling tools and is available in two color options. The retail price is set at 879,000 won ($609).
The launch of the new device is part of Dyson Korea's efforts to expand its beauty product portfolio and boost sales, which were weaker last year. According to the Korean unit’s regulatory filing, its revenue was 542.29 billion won in 2024, down 27 percent from 749.29 billion won a year earlier.
