Samsung expands AI appliances to luxury low-rise apartments, detached townhouses

Samsung Electronics is set to supply AI technology-powered home appliances to the business-to-business (B2B) market to expand the ecosystem of intelligent home appliances, the company said Tuesday.
The home appliance maker said it signed a memorandum of understanding to supply its new Bespoke WindFree Infinite Line ceiling air conditioners, which it launched on Thursday, to DH Property One, an implementer of the upmarket GLAnZ RIVER PARK low-rise apartment complex.
Located in Seongnae-dong, Gangdong District, eastern Seoul, this new low-rise apartment complex is a high-end residence with 407 units housed within 42 detached two-story buildings.
By supplying its home appliances to the highly-priced apartment complex, Samsung plans to increase the presence of its AI-powered home appliances.
"Samsung will also provide SmartThings connectivity to the built-in appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, induction cooktops and ovens that will be supplied with the Bespoke WindFree Infinite Line ceiling air conditioners to provide consumers with energy savings and a comfortable living environment," the company said.
Starting with this order, Samsung will continue to expand the supply of its AI-based ceiling air conditioners to various B2B markets such as luxury low-rise apartments, detached townhouses and "senior towns," or retirement communities.
In addition, the company is actively targeting residential facilities, as well as B2B markets such as commercial facilities, educational facilities and exhibition centers, with its AI home appliances such as the Bespoke AI Combo, an all-in-one washer-dryer with AI features, the Bespoke AI Steam robot vacuum cleaner and the AI-powered Neo QLED 8K TV.
Samsung said the Bespoke AI Windless Infinite Line features luxurious design and high-efficiency cooling performance, as well as AI-enhanced features, including a radar sensor that detects human movement.
The AI-powered power-saving function automatically switches to sleep mode when the radar sensor detects human movement and gradually switches to sleep mode faster by learning the user's absence patterns to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
It also has a motion-sensing comfort feature that detects changes in activity in the space and adjusts the cooling intensity and airflow accordingly. When there is a lot of activity, such as exercise or cleaning, the cooling intensity of the air conditioner is automatically increased.
