Netmarble will release its first new game of the year, Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions, in April. The role-playing game will be launched simultaneously in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, where the genre is highly popular, the video game developer said Thursday.

The video game, which will be available for mobile and PC, is based on the world of the popular drama series "Arthdal Chronicles" (2019–2023), Netmarble said.

"Arthdal Chronicles: Three Factions is the first project for Netmarble's new leap forward in 2024," Netmarble CEO Kwon Young-sig said during a showcase event at the company's headquarters in Seoul.

"Based on the excellent intellectual property (IP) interpretation ability and development experience of the development team that developed Blade & Soul Revolution, we will provide new enjoyment and experiences for users," Kwon said.

The Netmarble CEO added that the company plans to launch a total of three role-playing games this year and aims to expand the scope of the Korean role-playing scene with these games.

"Hundreds of cinematic effects and storylines will enhance immersion and provide a high degree of freedom to let users roam the continent without restrictions, and a system that encourages competition and cooperation centered on three factions will be provided," Seo added.

With the new game set to launch in April, the company said pre-registration will begin from Thursday.
