SAP SuccessFactors, a human resource software company of SAP, is trying to improve its presence in the AI-driven human resource management software market here in the face of the rapid adoption of AI technology across the HR sector, the company said Thursday.

To provide its enterprise customers in Korea with better HR management services, the company said it established the Korea SAP SuccessFactors User Group enabling customers to network and share know-how and opinions.

“Over the last few years, we've seen the incredible momentum in Korea for SAP SuccessFactors. And we are very happy today that we will use the User Group as well here in Korea, which can help our customers drive additional value,” Angela Colantuono, head of SAP SuccessFactors Asia Pacific and Japan, said during a press conference held on the sidelines of the SAP HR Connect Seoul 2023 event.

The company held the event to introduce innovative approaches to how employees work and realize their potential using next-generation technologies, including AI. The company said the event had a total of 1,000 participants, including 250 on-site attendees, comprising customers and partner companies.

During the event, customer cases were disclosed by companies including Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore, LG Energy Solution, GC Biopharma, Seegene and Woomi.

SAP is actively leading AI-driven innovation, as it recently announced its generative AI co-pilot Joule, and the software company expects its AI technology will be used meaningfully in the HR sector, helping HR teams to write unbiased job descriptions and make it easier for employees to navigate complex processes and complete tasks faster. It also expects its Talent Intelligence Hub, an AI-powered skills framework, to help customers better understand, build and leverage the skills of their workforces.

Colantuono noted that many Korean companies were also represented at last month's global SAP SuccessFactors event in the U.S. and shared how partner companies in Korea are making a difference in HR management.

“During the global conference, we were able to bring together our customer advisory board members, including those from Korea,” she said.
