Olympus unveils new OM-D lineup

Olympus has unveiled its new flagship mirrorless OM-D series camera, equipped with high-end functions such as dual-fast autofocus and enhanced five-axis body image stabilization technology.
Olympus Korea, the local subsidiary of the Tokyo-based optics products giant, unveiled the OM-D E-M1 Mark II on Tuesday, breaking a three-year hiatus from its predecessor. The company said the new high-end camera will become the best fit for not just the professional, but for the amateur-level photographer, as the device offers sequential shooting speeds comparable to a digital single-lens reflex camera, or DSLR.
The device is capable of 18 frames-per-second (fps) sequential shooting with continuous autofocus, or 60 frames in single autofocus mode.
“The small and light body, offering high-quality shooting experiences, will become the best option for daily users and photographers,” Jeong Hoon, director at imaging business unit of Olympus Korea, said. “That is why the OM-D series continues to be the flagship model representing Olympus.”
The model comes with a 20.4-megapixel Live MOS sensor. The new flagship camera also offers a more convenient managing experience with the tethered shooting technology which allows users to control the device while connected with PC.
