Topfield expands to bio business through global partnerships

Topfield is pushing to expand its global presence in the natural bio product markets through a partnership with Korean and Indian companies, the local digital broadcasting device maker said Wednesday.

Topfield said it has signed a mutual agreement with Korea’s AYJ Bio Lab and India’s Science, Technology and Innovation Park for business cooperation in technology exchange and distribution and marketing of natural bio products.

The company said it expects the agreements will help it secure a strategic marketing foothold in India and other Asian countries.

The partnership will mainly focus on registration and distribution of natural bio products including AYJ Bio Lab’s mosquito repellent and a dust mite toxic protein degradation counteractive invention in the region with the support of Science, Technology and Innovation Park.

To this end, the three parties will establish a joint venture and engage in cooperative research and manpower exchanges.

Founded in 1998, Topfield has provided consumer electronics devices, particularly digital broadcasting apparatuses such as set-top boxes and personal video recorders. Besides its headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, the company operates branch offices in Germany and Thailand.

The Science, Technology and Innovation Park is the biggest public agency under the Department of Science and Technology India, according to Topfield.

AYJ Bio Lab is best known for its anti-dust mite invention and natural product technology in daily necessities, pest control for agriculture, health functional food products and pharmaceuticals for humans and animals.

Topfield said it will start working with AYJ Bio Lab regarding manufacture and distribution of natural bio products. Its existing set-top box business is also expected to gain momentum in the Indian market.
