Audi Korea to unveil safer A4 sedan

Audi Korea said Monday it will unveil its new A4 compact sedan next month, which features improvements in passenger protection.
The fully changed model will come eight years after its predecessor hit the road under the motto of “bigger, wider, lighter and more efficient,” said the local subsidiary of the German luxury automaker.
In particular, the company stressed the New Audi A4 is equipped with drastically improved safety features, represented by “Audi pre sense city,” which gives warnings to drivers upon detecting potential collisions by scanning the road for other vehicles.
“An automatic emergency braking system is operated when the system detects potential threats from pedestrians or other vehicles at speeds up to 85 kilometers-per-hour (km/h),” Audi Korea said in a statement.
Audi A4 sedans have been the company’s major profit booster since 2010. More than 2,200 A4s were sold in Korea in its first year, with the number more than doubling to 4,943 last year, according to Audi Korea.
A state-of-the-art infotainment system is another key feature of the new entry-model luxury sedan. The company said the New A4 comes with a 12.3-inch liquid crystal display (LCD), allowing drivers to access major IT options, including touch pads or Apple CarPlay.
These features are in line with Audi’s global advertising slogan, “Vorsprung durch Technik,” which translated into English is, “Progress through Technology,” according to the company.
Audi A4, previously known as the Audi 80, was introduced in 1972, and has topped more than 1 million sales across the globe. Its record proves its innovative progress over the past four decades, the company said. They include self-locking center differential, fully zinc-coated body and the Quattro four-wheel drive system.
The New Audi A4 TFSI Quattro model can reach 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, with a TSFI 2.0 liter gasoline engine generating up to 252 horsepower, the company said.
