AhnLab said Tuesday it will foster more software coding specialists by providing career development support.
The nation’s leading security software provider said it has started a career development initiative as a follow-up program for those who graduated from its free software-coding tutor-training session dubbed AhnLab Software Education Manager (SEM).
“Thanks to the wide range of demands for software developers, about 30 among the first group of AhnLab SEM graduates are already working as coding tutors at public agencies and authors of educational materials on coding,” AhnLab said in a statement. “We will continue to strive to help the AhnLab SEM graduates work without career discontinuance.”
AhnLab and Momelancer, a subcontractor dedicated to the AhnLab SEM program, will provide a total of 86 graduates with opportunities for on-the-job training and paid tutoring job at public agencies or public education institutions such as elementary and middle schools and universities.
AhnLab and Momelancer also plan to help the graduates develop their careers into education service experts as AhnLab SEM program tutors or in the startup sector.
The company expects that the demand for software coding experts will increase as the government plans to teach software development as a regular subject in elementary and middle schools.
“We are seeing an increase in requests for software coding tutors from elementary and middle schools which will include software in their regular curriculum and universities that provide software education as a liberal arts program,” said Momelancer CEO Kim Hyun-sook.
AhnLab said it will accept applications next month for the AhnLab SEM program’s second run.
