SanDisk releases 512 GB memory card

SanDisk, a global flash memory storage manufacturer, unveiled what it claims is the world’s largest-capacity memory card at an event in Seoul, Thursday.
The new Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I memory card offers 512 gigabytes of storage capacity.
“The new memory card is the world’s highest capacity and is designed to meet the demands of industry professionals who require the most advanced equipment available for shooting 4K ultra high definition (UHD) video, full-HD video and high-speed burst mode photography,” said Gavin Wu, vice president of Asia Pacific region for SanDisk.
The Extreme Pro UHS-I SDHC and SDXC are available in capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.
The company also introduced the microSD UHS-I memory card and the 64 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I, which it claims is the world’s fastest microSD memory card.
The company said 4K Ultra HD is an example of a technology that is pushing them to develop new storage solutions capable of handling massive file sizes.
“The 512GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-I card is an advancement that enables professionals to store more content on a single card more reliably than ever before,” the vice president said.
