Nails and spiders on face as cosmetics

Spider Therapy, which was thought to be accessible at luxury aesthetics, is now available at homes easily.

The therapy refers to skin care that uses natural enzymes extracted from spiders.

“Korea Research Institute of Bioscience & Biotechnology has successfully produced the first-ever cosmetics from the natural protease, arazyme, which is extracted from local diadem spiders’ enteric microorganisms,” said a spokesperson of cosmetics brand One Night Beauty(ONB) in a press release on Jan. 16.

Arazyme, different from other existing proteases, is registered as a patent thanks to its active function in a wide range of temperature and pH. It has been developed as cosmetics as its function to dissolve protein keeps skin smooth.

Domestic bio research specialists have evaluated ONB’s arazyme cosmetics as a very nature-friendly product because it exploits enzymes extracted from spiders’ enteric microorganisms, which does not affect on ecosystem adversely.

Spider cosmetics, ONB’s arazyme peeling gel, helps keep skin clean by disconnecting bonds between old dead skin cells that are not easily decomposed on the outside layer of skin, even without chemical irritations nor damage on skin. It also works well on sensitive skin types due to its calming effect.

A growing number of consumers are looking for cosmetics made from natural materials like snail cream (the trigger of natural material cosmetics), leeches and spiders that are mild and have less chemical irritations to skin.

An ONB spokesman said that consumers are highly interested in arazyme, because it’s special material that has been genuinely developed by domestic technology with the worldwide recognition through export.
