Hyundai Glovis has expanded its logistics footprint in the United States by opening two new facilities to strengthen its readiness to the rapidly changing global supply chain dynamics, the company said Wednesday.

According to the logistics firm, it opened a new logistics center in Los Angeles and an integrated warehouse in Georgia in the first quarter of the year.

The move is part of the company’s strategic effort to preemptively respond to the increasing production in North America and enhance its supply chain flexibility, Hyundai Glovis said.

The Los Angeles logistics facility spans approximately 12,000 square meters — roughly the size of two football fields — and is about a 25-minute drive away from both the Port of Long Beach and a nearby airport.

The facility’s proximity to key transport hubs makes it well-suited for handling combined sea and air freight operations.

Hyundai Glovis plans to integrate a range of logistics services at the site, including transloading, air cargo handling and warehouse and distribution operations.

The company will also strengthen its inland transportation capabilities through direct operations, enabling faster response to urgent shipments and more flexible cost management amid market volatility, it said.

The facility is expected to serve as a key logistics hub for the western side of the U.S., supporting end-to-end services from storage to final delivery, while also improving supply chain responsiveness through coordinated air and maritime transport.

The company has also established a large-scale integrated warehouse in Savannah, Georgia. Covering about 69,000 square meters, the facility will function as a consolidation center.

The warehouse is designed as a production-linked logistics hub, primarily handling increased cargo volumes generated by Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, while also serving nearby nonaffiliated clients.

Savannah has emerged as a key logistics hub in the southeastern part of the country. The region has attracted a growing number of global manufacturers, driving steady demand for logistics services ranging from raw material imports to finished goods exports.

Its well-connected port and inland transportation networks also position it as a strategic base for future logistics expansion across North America, the company said.

“Leveraging our localized logistics network, we will respond flexibly to the diverse needs of global clients,” a company official said, adding that it will continue expanding logistics infrastructure in major regions across the U.S. to proactively address evolving global supply chain conditions.
