LS Cable & System reported record sales and operating profit last year, buoyed by surging global demand for power grid infrastructure and a swelling order backlog, the Korean cable maker said Monday.

Annual sales increased 12.2 percent year-on-year to 7.58 trillion won ($5.2 billion), while operating profit rose 1.9 percent to 279.8 billion won, the company said, with both figures marking record highs.

The results were led by expanding demand for extra-high-voltage and submarine cables, along with stronger contributions from subsidiaries including LS Eco Energy, the company added.

Order backlog stood at about 7.63 trillion won as of end-December 2025, up 22 percent from a year earlier and the highest on record. The company said the record backlog underscores the stability of its medium- to long-term growth trajectory.

LS Eco Energy, the company’s Vietnam-based cable subsidiary, saw sales rise 10.5 percent to 960.1 billion won and operating profit jump 49.2 percent to 66.8 billion won from 2024, the company said. The results marked a second straight year of double-digit growth and record highs in revenue, operating profit and net profit.

Growth was driven by joint projects with LS Cable & System in European and North American markets, as well as rising demand for power infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence data centers across Southeast Asia.

LS Marine Solution, the submarine cable installation subsidiary, posted a record-high annual revenue of 244.2 billion won, up 87.4 percent compared to 2024, according to the company. The increase was driven largely by growth in offshore wind farm submarine cable construction activity.

LS Cable & System said it is building a submarine cable factory in the U.S. and a bus duct plant in Mexico as part of a broader push to expand its global production capacity and supply chain. The company is also pursuing a partnership with Lynas Rare Earths, an Australian supplier and the only non-Chinese source of rare earth materials, to secure critical materials.

"As a global top-tier company, we continue to maintain our competitiveness in large-scale power grid projects," a company spokesperson said.

"As the importance of energy security grows, the value of experience in executing large-scale infrastructure projects is increasing, and we believe our target of 10 trillion won in revenue by 2030 is achievable."
