Do not go gentle into that good night, old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light, though wise men at their end know dark is right, because their words had forked no lightning they, do not go gentle into that good night.

Celltrion said Monday it will join the government’s push to conserve energy, a move aimed at addressing Middle East instability and a surge in global oil prices.
The biopharmaceutical company outlined a seven-point plan for employees to follow in their daily routines, including a voluntary alternate-day driving program based on license plate numbers, tighter heating and cooling standards, standby power cutoffs, expanded use of electronic reporting, stair-use campaigns, solar panel installations and replacing clean room lighting with LED units.
Under the vehicle restriction program, employees with license plates ending in designated numbers will voluntarily refrain from driving on corresponding days of the month. Vehicles belonging to pregnant employees, persons with disabilities as well as zero-emission vehicles — including electric and hydrogen-powered cars — are exempt.
Celltrion said it will require employees to shut down computers and monitors when leaving for the day and install timer-equipped smart plugs on high-standby-power devices such as water and air purifiers.
Designated areas will also undergo full lighting shutoffs during daytime hours, with air conditioning operating only when indoor temperatures exceed 26 degrees Celsius and heating only when they fall below 18 degrees Celsius.
On the production front, the company said it is swapping out aging fluorescent lighting in its clean rooms for high-efficiency LED fixtures. Solar panels installed at a newly built DP plant are set to begin generating renewable electricity in the second half of the year.
The company said the measures are meant to become a lasting part of its organizational culture, rather than a one-time response to the current energy situation.
"Overcoming the energy crisis is a critical challenge that requires the combined efforts of government, businesses and individuals alike," a Celltrion official said.
"Celltrion will continue to lead in sustainable, carbon-neutral management through energy efficiency improvements and the adoption of renewable energy."
