CES 2026 LG Innotek showcases next-gen mobility solutions at CES

In-cabin AI tech enhances safety, convenience
LG Innotek is showcasing a broad range of innovative mobility solutions at CES 2026, reinforcing its push to evolve from a components supplier into a full-fledged mobility solution provider.
Highlights include camera modules capable of removing foreign substances in real time and ultra-compact, high-performance LiDAR systems with detection ranges of up to 200 meters.
At LG Innotek’s booth in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, visitors are immediately greeted by a mock-up of an autonomous driving concept car. Rather than displaying individual parts, the company placed a full vehicle at the center of the exhibition, presenting its technologies in an integrated, 3D format that illustrates how they function together in real driving environments.
The exhibition space reflects LG Innotek’s strategic shift toward mobility solutions. The autonomous driving mock-up incorporates 16 core components related to Autonomous Driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Instead of showcasing cameras, LiDAR and radar as standalone products, LG Innotek emphasized convergence sensing solutions that integrate hardware with proprietary software — an approach aligned with the emerging era of AI-Defined Vehicles.
One of the most striking aspects of the display was the real-world responsiveness of the company’s sensing technologies. A heated camera module rapidly melts snow and frost to maintain visibility, while an active cleaning camera module removes water and foreign substances from the lens in just one second. Despite their reduced size, these modules offer enhanced performance, supported by LG Innotek’s in-house software.
Also drawing attention was an ultracompact, high-performance LiDAR system unveiled at CES 2026. Co-developed with U.S.-based firm Aeva, the LiDAR can detect objects at distances of up to 200 meters, helping overcome camera limitations in long-range recognition.
Visitors can experience the autonomous driving mock-up firsthand. Sitting in the driver’s seat, they can view autonomous driving scenarios through a front-facing LED screen, an exhibition design that prioritizes immersion over technical explanation.
Inside the vehicle, LG Innotek showcased its in-cabin solutions. The “next-generation under-display camera module,” unveiled at CES 2026, is hidden behind the instrument panel yet maintains accurate facial recognition through artificial intelligence-based image restoration software. It also features a dual recording function that enables in-vehicle vlogging while driving. Demonstrations included child presence detection using ultra-wideband radar and a kick sensor that allows hands-free trunk operation.
Lighting solutions spanning the vehicle’s interior as well as its front and rear formed another key exhibition pillar. The CES 2026 Innovation Award-winning ultrathin pixel lighting module enables precise rendering of letters and patterns, while the silicon-based “Nexlide Air” enhances design flexibility and pedestrian safety.
An electric vehicle (EV) mock-up was also on display, presenting 15 core EV components, including the world’s first mass-produced 800V wireless battery management system and “B-Link,” which integrates batteries with the battery junction box.
