From TVs to home appliances, healthcare, company emphasizes proactive, connected AI ecosystem

LAS VEGAS — Samsung Electronics on Sunday (local time) unveiled its vision for an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven lifestyle, introducing a new lineup of AI-powered devices and services at its The First Look event ahead of the CES 2026 technology fair.

At the event, the Korean tech giant introduced its new theme, “Your Companion to AI Living,” positioning AI not as a standalone feature but as a core philosophy linking product development, operations and user experience across its ecosystem.

Roh Tae-moon, CEO and head of Samsung’s Device Experience Division, said the company’s extensive lineup of connected, AI-enabled devices gives it a competitive edge in delivering what he described as a “true companion experience.”

"Our mission is clear: to be Your Companion to AI Living," Roh said.

"We will embed AI across every category, product, and service to deliver a seamless, unified AI experience and be at the forefront to deliver the power of innovation to more people — everywhere."

Samsung placed strong emphasis on AI-driven entertainment, led by its display business.

Yong Seok-woo, president of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, highlighted the company’s latest AI TV lineup, which integrates visual intelligence with advanced hardware.

At the center of the lineup is the 130-inch Micro RGB TV, featuring independently controlled microscopic red, green and blue LEDs designed to enhance color accuracy and brightness. The display is powered by Samsung’s Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, which optimizes picture quality on a scene-by-scene basis, the company said.

Samsung also introduced Vision AI Companion, a software platform that enables voice-based interaction and personalized recommendations for content, food and music. The feature will be available across Samsung’s 2026 TV lineup, which includes Micro LED, OLED, Neo QLED and UHD models.

Additional AI-based features include AI Soccer Mode Pro, which optimizes picture and sound for live sports, and AI Sound Controller Pro, allowing users to adjust audio elements such as commentary and crowd noise independently.

The company also unveiled lifestyle-oriented products such as the ultra-thin OLED S95H TV, the portable projector The Freestyle+ and two new WiFi speakers — Music Studio 5 and 7 — designed in collaboration with French designer Erwan Bouroullec. Samsung said its 2026 TV lineup will support HDR10+ Advanced and its proprietary Eclipsa Audio spatial sound technology, while its Tizen operating system will receive software updates for up to seven years.

Samsung also expanded its AI strategy to home appliances, focusing on automation and personalization.

Kim Cheol-gi, executive vice president and head of Samsung’s Digital Appliances Division, said SmartThings has surpassed 430 million users globally as of December 2025.

The latest Family Hub refrigerator now features an upgraded AI Vision system built with Google Gemini, improving food recognition and inventory tracking. New services include automated recipe recommendations, video-to-recipe conversion and FoodNote, a weekly report analyzing food consumption patterns.

Samsung also showcased updated versions of its Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Bespoke AI AirDresser and Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra robot vacuum, which adds liquid detection and home monitoring capabilities powered by a Qualcomm processor.

Samsung concluded the event by outlining its long-term vision for AI-enabled health care. Praveen Raja, vice president of digital health at Samsung Research America, said the company aims to shift care from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.

By integrating smartphones, wearables and home devices, Samsung plans to offer personalized health coaching, early detection of abnormal patterns and remote consultations through platforms such as Xealth. The company is also expanding research into early dementia detection using wearable data.

Samsung emphasized that its AI ecosystem is protected by Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix, which are continuously upgraded to address emerging AI-related security risks.
