Innocean has appointed Kim Jung-a, vice president and chief creative officer at the advertising firm, as its new CEO, the company said Wednesday.

Kim will take office as the company's new head beginning Saturday.

Kim started her career in 1996 in the advertising industry and joined Innocean in 2006. She has since served as the firm’s main creative director, overseeing major brand campaigns and advertisement production with major companies here and abroad.

She has focused on diversifying the firm’s revenue streams in the content business by creating a tech-driven brand solution team and a joint venture dedicated to content production.

Kim also played a pivotal role in enhancing Innocean’s global competitiveness by leading the firm’s multiple award-winning campaigns for Hyundai Motor Group, Google Korea and Domino’s Pizza.

As the firm’s first woman CEO, Kim’s appointment marks a historic and transformative milestone for Innocean, the company said.

She will focus on three global priorities after taking office: elevated creativity, artificial intelligence (AI)-ready transformation and creative culture.

She is set to rebuild Innocean’s global strategy with the focus on creativity and will also work to enhance the firm’s earnings by better connecting creative ideas with business growth.

Kim also pledged to embrace AI as a “creative amplifier” to strengthen imagination and efficiency for the company.

“I am deeply honored to take on this responsibility,” Kim said. “My goal is to stay true to the essence of creativity while continuously expanding beyond traditional advertising to build new kinds of businesses that will position Innocean as a leading global marketing company.”
