Samsung Display has launched MONT FLEX, its new foldable OLED display brand, in a move to reinforce its leadership in next-generation display technology. The brand will make its official debut at the 2025 K-Display Exhibition, scheduled for Thursday to Saturday in Seoul.

Inspired by the French word “mont”— meaning “mountain” — the name MONT FLEX symbolizes the company’s vision of reaching the summit of innovation in foldable displays. According to Samsung Display, the brand reflects both its pursuit of technological excellence and its commitment to shaping the future of mobile experiences.

The name also encapsulates four defining strengths of Samsung Display’s foldable OLED technology. These include mechanical durability for high folding reliability, a vivid and nearly crease-free display enabled by opto-mechanical precision, minimal bezels that expand the screen area and a thin, lightweight design that improves portability.

Over the years, its foldable panels have gained a reputation for combining sleek design with robust performance. The latest model offers a slimmer and lighter profile than its predecessors, while maintaining exceptional durability.

The company sees the introduction of the MONT FLEX brand as an opportunity to more clearly communicate the unique value of its foldable OLED technology, both to consumers and industry partners.

“Since beginning mass production of foldable OLEDs in 2019, we have continued to drive technological innovation to perfect the product — becoming the first in the industry to apply Ultra Thin Glass and LEAD, a polarizer-free OCF technology, to foldables,” said Yun Jae-nam, executive vice president and head of the Mobile Display Marketing Team at Samsung Display.

“Following the launch of a foldable panel with a newly developed shock-resistant structure that passed the 500,000-fold durability test, we will continue pushing the boundaries to deliver even more refined foldable products that exceed market expectations.”

With MONT FLEX, Samsung Display aims not only to build stronger brand equity in foldables, but also to accelerate growth in a segment it views as central to the future of mobile devices.
