P&G Korea has been dedicated to creating a healthier and safer environment for its consumers, making social contributions in various ways beyond its business.
As a global hygiene product maker, P&G has been working across its business to build trust with consumers by acting on its social responsibilities, from environmental protection and community support to providing help for families in need.
According to last year’s report by the Federation of Korean Industries, companies are prioritizing environmental issues in both their new social projects and sustainable management.
As such, P&G Korea has been focusing on educating future generations and sharing practical information about the environment. Since 2021, it has partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Korea to create children’s storybooks that encourage eco-friendly habits.
Since last year, P&G and WWF have been visiting elementary schools to conduct education on carbon neutrality and life cycle assessment. During the program, students are introduced to the concept of environmental protection and how products impact the planet at every stage.
In 2024, P&G also worked with four webtoon creators to launch a campaign to protect the sea, creating a relay of short webtoons on Instagram with environmental messages.
Taking on the social responsibility of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) matrix, the company has been running a Family Care Program, aiming to build a happier and better society by supporting families and helping those in need.
Since 2018, it has helped renovate pediatric wards at hospitals, including the Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital and SMG-SNU Boramae Medical Center. This year, the company has helped renovate Seoul Medical Center’s pediatric department, offering brighter-themed waiting rooms and examination rooms to create more comfortable and welcoming environments for young patients.

In February, employees from P&G’s diaper brand Pampers also visited the center to volunteer, bringing warmth and support to children and families.
P&G Korea also extends its helping hand to communities suffering from emergencies or disasters. In March, the company donated a total of 55.8 million won ($41,000), including 5.8 million won voluntarily raised by its employees, to help recover from the country’s large-scale wildfires.
In 2023, P&G provided 30 million won to help repair schools damaged by heavy rain in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, and Daegu. In 2022, the company donated about 110 million won to support victims of large wildfires in Gangwon Province and North Gyeongsang Province.
Additionally, the company has been promoting inclusivity in communities, creating Braille tags to help visually impaired individuals safely use household products and donating products worth about 29 million won to the Korea Blind Union in 2023.
Meanwhile, P&G is also investing in the future workforce to offer job security to younger generations. It has worked to support sustainable growth and social responsibility by recruiting for intern positions that can lead to a full-time position in the first half of this year.
“The direction for corporations today lies in pursuing sustainable growth and creating an inclusive environment for our society,” the company said. “As a responsible corporation, P&G will continue its sincere efforts to build a better future in everyday life and to strengthen trust with consumers.”
