CJ OliveNetworks has signed a business agreement with Cisco Korea to expand its graphics processing unit (GPU)-based artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure business, the former said Tuesday.

Cisco, a global leader in network equipment and security solutions, has recently been accelerating AI-driven digital transformation for enterprise clients through machine learning-based network automation and advanced cloud management platforms.

The signing ceremony, held Friday, was attended by Yoo In-sang, CEO of CJ OliveNetworks; Dave West, president of Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan and China; and Choi Ji-hee, president of Cisco Korea.

Through this strategic collaboration, the two companies aim to enhance the competitiveness of their AI infrastructure and services by integrating new AI-related technologies in computing, networking and security. They also plan to jointly develop AI infrastructure architectures, explore shared service models and pursue cooperative projects to bring innovative solutions to the market.

A key focus of the partnership will be the joint development of a cloud-based, end-to-end AI infrastructure service model. Leveraging Cisco’s high-performance GPU servers, this model will support the full AI life cycle — from development and deployment to security and monitoring. The goal is to provide an optimized environment for AI model training, enhance operational efficiency through automation, and implement robust security and monitoring features.

CJ OliveNetworks will also adopt Cisco’s AI solutions to strengthen its internal capabilities and lead the transformation and operational enhancement of client AI systems. Looking ahead, the two companies anticipate this partnership will significantly elevate the quality and reliability of AI infrastructure services, fostering an ecosystem of industry-specific AI solutions tailored to enterprise needs.

“This partnership not only enhances our competitiveness in the AI infrastructure business but also contributes to the broader AI ecosystem. By integrating CJ OliveNetworks’ technology with Cisco’s platform, we will deliver faster, more efficient AI services,” Yoo said.

West also highlighted the synergy between CJ OliveNetworks’ strengths in cloud and data center operations and Cisco’s expertise in AI infrastructure, security and visibility, expressing confidence that the partnership will help accelerate the expansion of AI infrastructure in Korea.
