Innocean's ad selected as one of top 10 most memorable Super Bowl commercials

A Super Bowl commercial produced by the Korean advertising agency Innocean was named one of the 10 most memorable Super Bowl commercials of the past decade, Hyundai Motor Group's affiliate said Thursday.

Innocean’s 2016 commercial titled “First Date” for the Genesis G80 was ranked at No. 4 in a poll on the 10 most memorable Super Bowl ads by VCCP and Cowry Consulting. The poll surveyed 1,000 people in the United States.

Genesis was the only car brand to make it into the top 10.

Featuring Hollywood comedian Kevin Hart, the commercial depicts a father monitoring his daughter's first date using the G80's vehicle tracking function. It was well received for seamlessly highlighting Genesis' cutting-edge technology through a playful storyline.

At the time, the commercial was ranked No. 1 in a 2016 Super Bowl ad preference survey, which included 63 commercials from that year. It became the first car brand and non-U.S. company to achieve this milestone.

“As great commercials leave a lasting impression on consumers over time, we will continue striving to deliver the most distinctive and top-tier works in the global market,” Innocean CEO Lee Yong-woo said.
