APR, which manufactures skin care products and casual sports apparel, is showing prominent performance in the beauty tech markets both at home and abroad thanks to rapidly-growing demand for skin care services, according to company officials, Monday.
Since the launch of medicube AGE-R, APR has been standing out in the beauty tech sector. AGE-R is a beauty device brand under APR that has grown rapidly with its first product DERMA SHOT introduced in March 2021.
The brand further launched other beauty devices such as USSERA, ATS AIR SHOT, Booster-H, and I-SHOT to sell over 1 million products in total in just over two years since its establishment.
APR's development is in line with the growth of the home beauty market. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers have been taking care of their skin at home instead of visiting a clinic. A U.S. research institute Data Bridge expects the home beauty market to grow to $176.9 billion (227 trillion won) by 2030.
“To gain a solid footing in the rapidly growing beauty device market, companies should also adopt changes accordingly. APR is expanding its beauty device lineups in the global market and entering the healthcare business currently,” an APR official said.
APR is focusing on developing products that care for the whole body, not just the face. AGE-R's CONTOUR BODY SHOT has the function of improving skin elasticity and alleviating swelling with thermal energy generated by radio frequency and electric muscle stimulation (EMS). CONTOUR BODY SHOT's EMS stimulates rigid muscles to improve body line irregularities.
The beauty tech firm's global expansion effort is also bearing fruit. APR, which showed 143.7 billion won in sales in overseas markets, last year, is currently generating 30 percent to 40 percent of its total sales abroad.
In particular, the first batch of APR's Booster-H product in the United States sold out during Amazon's Prime Day in July. While strengthening its business in the U.S., China and Japan, APR is planning to move into the European market soon.
