LG Energy Solution (LGES) held a Battery Tech Conference (BTC) in San Francisco, Saturday, to attract global talent to lead its future growth, the company said Sunday.

Over 40 selected individuals with master's and doctorate degrees from top U.S. universities and laboratories, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of California, Los Angeles, Purdue University and Argonne National Laboratory participated in the conference, which was held at the Fairmont Hotel under the theme of “LG Energy Solution that provide enthusiasm and specialty to human resources.”

LGES's top executives, including CTO Shin Young-joon, also joined the event to introduce the company's vision, roles and duties of its each business unit as well as growth programs for talented young workers.

“Until now, there have been many cases where students studying overseas find jobs at foreign companies due to a lack of Korean global firms, where they can expand their professional capabilities,” an LGES official said. “LGES, a global leader in the battery industry, expects to provide an attractive opportunity for talented young workers who want to develop their personal careers as we are actively recruiting top-level human resources.”

A number of questions followed from the participants after a presentation about the company's growth potential, corporate culture and various career advancement programs.

“It was particularly impressive that LGES has high potential for business growth to triple its sales within the next five years and a dedicated team to seek the growth of employees with a horizontal corporate culture. I was able to feel that the company truly seeks to grow together with individual workers,” one of the participants at the BTC conference said.

BTC is a global recruitment event that has also been held under the name of Business & Campus Tour since 2006, before LG Energy Solution was spun off. This year's BTC attracted 200 applicants, up from just 50 in 2021.
