Herbalife Nutrition Korea (HNF) is strengthening environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) management, taking the initiative to foster a sustainable working environment for employees.

The Korean office of the global nutrition firm is expanding its welfare program. It introduced birthday leave in July. Employees are given a day off on their birthday. If the birthday falls on a weekend or a public holiday, they will be given one day off within the next six days.

In October, the company introduced family leave. Employees can take up to three days of paid leave per year when they need time to care for a family member, including parents, spouses and children as well as siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and even pets.

Herbalife Nutrition Korea is bolstering its ESG activities to increase positive impacts on the environment and the local and global community.

For instance, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation has been sponsoring a total of six institutes such as ChildFund Korea, Sangrok Town, Daegu Children's Welfare Center, Solbaram Center in Seoul's Songpa District, Hyesimwon Orphanage and Yang Joon-hyuk Baseball Foundation for 16 years.

HNF was established to contribute to achieving global food equity, dedicated to improving the lives of children and communities around the world.

In October, Herbalife Nutrition Korea held a tree-planting event near Anyangcheon Stream in Seoul with the environmental organization, Forest for Life, and delivered donations.

Joined by employees, the tree-planting volunteer work took place in the pursuit of an environmental cleanup and the goal of sustainability, such as reducing carbon emissions and fine dust.

Herbalife Nutrition Korea's ESG activities and its contributions to a sustainable future are gaining recognition from around the world.

The company won the grand prize for quality innovation at the 16th National Sustainability Management ESG Conference for seven straight years.

It was also awarded for its contributions to the community from the 2022 Happiness Social Contribution Campaign for eleven straight years.

Herbalife Nutrition Korea was selected as a Great Place to Work (GPTW) company this year.

According to an in-house survey, over 90 percent of employees said they are working in a physically safe and sound workplace and that they receive fair treatment regardless of race, gender and sexual orientation.

“As a premier global nutrition company that fulfills its responsibilities to the local community, we will continue to endorse ESG management that values various stakeholders including the community and employees,” said Chung Seung-wook, general manager of Herbalife Nutrition Korea.
