Volkswagen Korea launches new Jetta, unveils Golf GTI

Sacha Askidjian, the executive director of Volkswagen Korea, who is marking the first anniversary of the company's inauguration vowed to accelerate its key brand strategy during the "2022 Volkswagen Atelier" where the company held a launch ceremony for the new Jetta and a pre-release presentation for the Golf GTI at Mark 69 in Seoul, Wednesday.
"The past year has been a year for Volkswagen Korea to regain its brand's original color in Korea," said Sacha Askidjian, executive director of Volkswagen Korea. “Today, we are filling our model portfolio with more balance and variety than ever before, and we are doing our best to provide our customers with a variety of choices.”
The new Jetta is a model that has shown strong leadership in the imported compact market by providing the best value for price based on uncompromising merchantability, and features a stronger design through this partial change, the company said.
The new Jetta is equipped with a four-cylinder 1.5 TSI gasoline turbo engine that replaces the existing 1.4-liter engine, providing stronger performance and improved fuel efficiency. It has a maximum output of 160 horsepower and emits a maximum torque of 25.5 kg.m.

The Golf GTI, which is scheduled to be released at the end of the year, was unveiled for the first time in Korea.
The Golf GTI will officially be launched in December and is equipped with the most advanced EA888 evo4 2.0 TSI high-performance turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine, providing a powerful performance of 245 horsepower and maximum torque of 37.8 kg.m.
