Samsung Electronics has been achieving mutual growth with its partner companies and providing better jobs to young people at the same time by operating an employment service called Samsung Youth Job Center, the company said, Monday.

In 2013, the company established the center to provide high-quality job opportunities and job consulting programs to young people and to help its partner companies recruit talented young people. Through this center, an average of 980 young people have joined Samsung's partner companies annually.

“Jobseekers can be introduced to promising companies and our partner companies can review various talent pools. As the competitiveness of partner companies becomes a driving force for growth together, the job center is sincere in the entire process of discovering and recommending jobseekers,” the company said.

As an example of a case of a young jobseeker who found a job through the center, Samsung introduced Nam Seung-hyeon, an engineer who is working for Emtek, a partner company of Samsung.

With an extraordinary career as a professional gamer, Nam graduated from university at the late age of 32 and spent about a year and a half looking for a job before joining Emtek through the job center.

“I was very nervous whenever I had a job interview, but I felt that the job center listened carefully to my story. I thought the center would be picky about jobseekers but I found out that the center carefully considered me and connected to me to this company,” he said.

Cho Saet-byeol, the leader of Emtek's HR team, said, “Since Nam was hired, the credibility of hiring people recommended by the center has increased.”

“At that time, the employees who interviewed Nam gave him good scores. Since joining our company, Nam has shown high performance as well.”

The job center also runs an online program that allows its partner companies to hire employees. The number of applicants for the online program is increasing every year. With an average of more than 50,000 resumes received every month, about 500 partner companies hired more than 1,000 people through the online program in 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, non-face-to-face recruitment has been expanding this year as well.
