Dongwon F&B adopts Aquacell tech for new omega-3 supplement

Local food firm Dongwon Food & Beverage launched its new GNC Aquacell Omega-3 COQ-10 D product adopting Aquacell technology that increase the absorption rate of drug nutrients.

Aquacell technology was first invented by Australian biotech firm Pharmako and this is the first time the technology has been used for any supplements sold in Korea.

Simply, the technology increases the body's absorption of omega-3 fatty acids by dividing the ingredient into small particles. The fatty acid in omega-3 is not easily dissolved in water.

Aquacell technology breaks down fatty acids to improve their interaction with digestive enzymes, making it easier to improve the body's absorption rate as well as its bioavailability.

Clinical trials showed that Dongwon F&B's new omega-3 product has a significantly higher absorption rate of DHA and EPA within 24 hours of ingestion compared to omega-3 products with typical EE-type, combining fatty acids with ethanol.

GNC Aquacell Omega-3 COQ-10 D contains 600 milligrams of DHA and EPA. Its main nutrient omega-3 is an essential fatty acid for humans but it is not produced enough within the body.

DHA is an important ingredient in the composition of brain, nervous and retinal tissues. EPA is a component that helps to suppress the synthesis in the liver of neutrophils, which is the cause of arteriosclerosis, and improves blood triglycerides.

GNC Aquacell Omega-3 COQ-10 D also includes Coenzyme Q10 and vitamin D. Coenzyme Q10 is well-known for its functionality as an antioxidant and reducer of high blood pressure while vitamin D is an essential nutrient for people spending much time indoors during the winter season.

GNC Aquacell Omega-3 COQ-10 D is made of high-purity fish oil extracted from fresh anchovies living in the southeastern Pacific region. It uses raw materials of omega that have obtained the highest grade level of 5 STAR from International Fish Oil Standards (IFOS).

IFOS is an international organization that professionally tests and verifies the quality of omega-3 products and gives scores out of five in total by examining the safety of the major components EPA and DHA, as well as other substances in the product. The higher the rating is, the higher the freshness and purity of the fish oil.

The omega-3 product adds lime and coconut oil to reduce the unique taste of fish oil during ingestion. Because the capsule comes in a smaller size than that of other products made by different companies, it is easier to swallow.
