Hyundai Mobis will showcase a slew of new technologies suited for future mobility at next month's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company said Thursday.

The auto parts maker said it will unveil the M.Vision S, a fully autonomous driving concept car, and a fuel-cell system for hydrogen-powered cars at CES 2020, which will be held in Las Vegas for four days starting Jan. 7.

It will be the company's fifth consecutive year at the CES.

The M.Vision S integrates autonomous driving sensors like cameras, radar and the light detection and ranging (LiDAR) system, communication lighting, virtual space touch and 3D rear lamp.

Visitors to the Hyundai Mobis booth can experience the process of connecting future vehicle technology and people, according to the company. For instance, the front camera on the M.Vision S will capture images of visitors in real time and show them on a large display.

The company will showcase camera and radar technology for autonomous driving and is planning to mass-produce the Level 3 autonomous driving LiDAR system by 2021, in cooperation with Velodyne, the U.S.-based LiDAR company.

A Level 3 car allows lane changes, among other autonomous driving functions, to work without the driver's intervention.

Hyundai Mobis will also reveal its communication lighting concept, which enables autonomous vehicles to communicate with pedestrians and other vehicles using intelligent lighting.

Virtual space touch is coupled with the windshield display, which is transparent during manual driving mode and turns into a screen during autonomous mode, it said.

“The acronym 'ace' refers to the core technologies that will be displayed at CES, which stand for autonomous driving, connectivity and electrification,” said Baek Gyeong-guk, head of the research planning business at Hyundai Mobis.

“We will concentrate our R&D competency to become the leader of future mobility.”

Hyundai Mobis will also showcase environment-friendly stories, which feature boats, drones and trams equipped with the hydrogen fuel-cell system, on the flexible display covering its booth's ceiling.

The company runs the world's largest production line exclusively for hydrogen fuel-cell modules in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province.

It will also set up a separate booth showcasing its core products to win orders from global car manufacturers.
