Fila Korea has appointed Yoon Keun-chang as its new CEO while promoting incumbent Kim Jin-myun to vice chairman. Another three officials were also appointed to the company's executive posts, it said Friday.
During the company's annual shareholders and board directors meeting, Friday, Fila Korea decided to change its management structure from its co-CEO management between Yoon Yoon-soo and Kim, to become a sole CEO structure led by Yoon Keun-chang.
Yoon Yoon-soo is the father of incoming CEO Yoon Keun-chang, and will retain his chairman of directors post, the company added.
Born in May 1975, son Yoon joined Fila USA in 2007 when Fila Korea took over its global headquarters. He has since served various posts including the company's business development, licensing and sourcing center director in China.
Fila USA had suffered a streak of losses every year, but the company said it started to turn a profit in 2010 since Yoon joined forces to improve its brand image.
His value recognized, Yoon was later promoted to Fila USA's CFO, and under his leadership, the company's sales reached tenfold from 2007 in 2015.
Yoon then entered Fila Korea in July 2015 to have since taken important managerial posts and become the company's CFO in July 2017.
Utilizing his experience with Fila USA, Yoon decided to carry out the company's first brand renewal to win back customers in 2016. It underwent massive design changes in its shoe line, in particular, to attract young customers.
Fila Korea said Yoon's appointment demonstrates the company's commitment for “Young Fila,” continuing to refurbish the brand image and seeking its sustainable growth.

Born in April 1954, incoming Vice Chairman Kim joined Fila Korea as CEO in 2015. The company said he will continue serving the company with excellence in his management skill.
“The global sports market recently has been shifting to athleleisure from performance-driven products. Fila has a long brand history in the sector,” Yoon said.
Athleleisure is a trend in fashion that combines business casual and athletic wear, and it has emerged as a new category of clothing and shoes.
Fila Korea has put its efforts to keep up with the latest fashion trend, and it has reformed its design since last year to target young adults -- teens and those in their 20s by simplifying the overall look while making its brand logo stand out.
