Procter & Gamble (P&G) has recently unveiled a video titled, “Love over Bias,” as a part of the company’s “Thank You Mom” campaign.

The U.S.-based consumer goods company, which is also an official Olympic partner, has spotlighted mothers of athletes participating in Olympics over the past few years.

The latest video shows mothers, who recognized their children’s potential regardless of other people’s bias.

In the video, Togolese skier Mathilde Petitjean said she wants people not to judge her by appearance. Petitjean, the first female skier from West Africa, participated in a cross-country skiing event at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

P&G is trying to send a message that it wants people around the world to empathize with love over bias, as mothers of athletes in the video did.

According to an International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) recent survey, 55 percent of Olympians said other people judged them with prejudice. The survey, however, also showed 99 percent of them were encouraged by their mothers’ faith and decided to participate in Olympics.

The video will screened as TV commercials and on Youtube in over 20 countries.

P&G Korea said stories of Korean athletes will be available on the company’s official Facebook and Instagram.

They are are speed skaters Lee Sang-hwa, Lee Seung-hoon and Park Seung-hi; short track speed skater Choi Min-jeong; skeleton racer Yun Sung-bin; and the women’s national ice hockey team.

P&G Korea has sponsored them, and the athletes have offered sports lessons to the company’s customers.

The Korean affiliate also invited the Swedish women’s national ice hockey team to Korea in July, holding a friendly match with the Korean national team.

P&G said it will invite athletes’ mothers to Korea, during the upcoming PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games.

It will offer the P&G Global Family Home, as well as accommodation and tickets to the games, in order for athletes and their mothers to enjoy the Olympics in comfort.

Since it became an official sponsor of the IOC, P&G has introduced mothers, who raised excellent Olympians, through the “Thank You Mom” campaign, ahead of every Olympics.

Videos screened before the London, Sochi and Rio Olympics got viewership of 300 million each.

In addition to the campaign, P&G said it will jointly run a special promotion event with Coupang by the end of this year and will offer a special discount event for those who pay by Visa credit cards at the nationwide Lotte Mart outlets by the end of February next year.

P&G, which has affiliates in over 70 countries, owns famous brands such as SK2, Gillette, Oral-B, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Febreze, Downy, Whisper, Pampers, Olay and Tide.
