Hyundai Motor Group’s luxury division Genesis sponsored an international premium fashion and lifestyle conference in Oman, making inroads into the Middle East premium vehicle market.

Hyundai Motor said in a press release Wednesday that Genesis sponsored the 2017 Conde Nast International Luxury Conference held at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Oman’s capital city of Muscat.

The Korean luxury brand offered a total of eight cars for the two-day event participated in by over 500 fashion industry insiders. Four G90 and another four G80 sedans were used as the event’s official escort vehicles.

This is the second time for Genesis to sponsor the event following the conference held in Seoul last year. Genesis also displayed its flagship model, the G90 sedan, while conducting various brand promotion operations at the event venue. The G90 sedan is known as the EQ900 in Korea.

“It is a pleasure to sponsor such a top fashion event like the Conde Nast International Luxury Conference for two years in a row,” a Genesis official said.

“The company will expand its sales with its global partner companies to enhance its brand image as a luxury carmaker.”

As a part of the carmaker’s efforts to position itself as a luxury carmaker, the official said Genesis is set to carry out various marketing operations to widen its target customers in the Middle East.

Genesis is also sponsoring another luxury resort, the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while establishing the so-called “Genesis Lounge” at premium shopping malls and hotels in the Gulf Coast Countries such Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Hyundai Motor officially introduced the Genesis brand to tap into the global luxury auto market in November 2015. It introduced its first sedan model, the G90 sedan, in December 2015.

Genesis is expected to introduce four more models, including a luxury sedan, a sports coupe, and two SUVs, by 2020.
