Ten wet wipe brands from South Korea’s Yuhan-Kimberly were taken off shelves on Friday after they were found to be contaminated with a toxic chemical, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) said.

The brands are HUGGIES PURE BABY WIPES, HUGGIES PREMIER BABY WIPES, GREEN FINGER NATURAL MOISTURE, HUGGIES NATURE MADE BABY WIPES, HUGGIES PREMIER, HUGGIES PURE, GREEN FINGER MOISTURE, GREEN FINGER PURE, HUGGIES SOOTHING CARE and HUGGIES NATURE MADE.

The Seoul-based company said it will recall all products on the shelves, sold and in stock. It also promised to refund affected customers.

The ministry said it had detected methanol ranging from 0.003 percent to 0.004 percent in the 10 products. The authorized limit is 0.002 percent. Frequent exposure to methanol can cause headaches, nausea and other health troubles.

“We apologize for causing concerns and discomfort to our customers,” said Yuhan-Kimberly on its website. “Our top priority is the safety of our customers and we will do our best to provide a safe product.”
