Public officials from developing countries will deliver speeches about information and communications technology (ICT) convergence business models and the newest trends of leading domestic ICT companies at Soongsil University (SSU), southern Seoul.
The university’s Graduate School of Information and Science said Thursday that SSU will host the 2016 Global ICT Convergence Conference on Oct. 25 at Kim Dukyoon Chapel Hall on its campus.
Attendees of the conference include entrepreneurs, who have been unable to expand toward overseas markets due to several restraints, and the core executives of specialized institutions which support overseas expansion of the government’s official development assistance (ODA) business programs.
The entrepreneurs will be able to satisfy their curiosity about the government’s ODA business program toward developing countries and build worldwide networks with public officials from 27 developing countries, according to SSU.
SSU’s Graduate School of Information Science has offered a master’s degree program in global ICT convergence, sponsored by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The university has invited public officials from developing countries who are working in the ICT fields and has taught ICT policy, academic theory and successful models of ICT convergence businesses.
“Our nation should spread Korea’s successful models overseas and then collaborate for mutual growth with them,” an SSU official said.
At the 2016 conference, public officials from 27 developing countries who are students in SSU’s master’s program have prepared speeches for three government officials from Mongolia, Pakistan and Ecuador to deliver. The speeches will be about how consumers see the cooperative business models.
Korean experts in the field of ICT will also deliver lectures on how to spread successful examples of Korea’s ICT and policy during the second and the third sessions.
During the fourth session, five experts will discuss strategies to promote Korea’s successful ICT models and policies.
The official language of the event is English and interpretation service will not be available.
