Diageo to hold lecture on responsible drinking

Diageo, the world’s largest premium whisky producer, will hold a lecture for university students here about responsible drinking and finding jobs at multinational companies.
Diageo Korea said Monday that it will give a lecture at Ewha Womans University in Seoul from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. As part of the company’s Cool Drinker campaign, the compay will talk about how to create a culture of responsible drinking on campus and what global companies look for in jobseekers.
University students can attend the “Talk ‘N DrinkiQ” lecture free of charge. Diageo will hand out free gifts through a draw at the end of the event.
“Many university students are aware that the current drinking culture on campus has problems,” company CEO Cho Kil-soo said. “As a leader in the country’s liquor industry, we feel obliged to help schools create a responsible drinking culture. Through the upcoming lecture, we hope to make a difference on campus.”
For the past eight years, Diageo has selected a group of university students as its goodwill ambassadors to promote its “drinking responsible” campaign. The company has set five rules for university students to follow, including drinking more water and never passing the glass around.
