Gileum Raemian to go on sale this month

Samsung C&T, a construction affiliate of Samsung Group, will begin selling individual apartments in a 2,352-unit complex in Gileum, northern Seoul, late this month in a redevelopment project of what used to be a backward area, the company said Monday.
The new apartment complex, named Raemian Gileum Centerpiece, in Seongbuk, will be composed of 24 separate apartment buildings. Out of the 2,352 units, 2,016 units will be allocated for local residents and the remaining 336 will be available for non-residential customers, Samsung C&T said.
The 336 units to be sold to non-residential customers will be largely 59 square meters and 84 square meters with one bathroom, the statement said.
Small-sized apartments are increasingly popular with newlyweds, singles and other small families as they help cut costs and sell well later.
In the complex, there will be two childcare centers ― one state-run and the other private, a kindergarten, a children’s club and gymnasium.
There will also be a fitness center, a golf range, a book café and a community center for discussions about local issues.
In the so-called Gileum New Town, the result of redevelopment of some of the Seongbuk area, some 5,000 families and singles already reside in 5 Raemian apartment complexes.
The new Gileum Centerpiece stands out in that it provides convenient access to major department stores, such as Hyundai and Lotte, and an Emart outlet, the nation’s biggest large discount store, and a CGV movie theater. These are mostly within a 3 minute walk, or 300 meters, from the new apartment complex.
Moreover, the no. 4 subway line is about a 4 minute walk away, Model apartments will be open at the end of this month and the date for moving into the complex is scheduled for February 2019.
