HiteJinro launched premium soju and wine gift sets for the Chuseok holiday, said the company on Sunday.

The leading beverage maker of the nation rolled out its Ilpoom Jinro set and 35 kinds of wines for the season.

Ilpoom Jinro soju, a 10 year old soju distilled from pure rice and aged in oak, has been popular during the holiday season as a gift set for years.

With its distinctive taste with clean and smooth notes and a lasting delicate scent, the limited edition gift set sells out quickly after its release each season, said the company.

Two bottles of Ilpoom Jinro soju (375 ml, each) and a pair of shot glasses and another pair of cocktail glasses come with each set.

For this year’s set, golden colored silk cloth encase the bottles, while the traditionally made Hanji paper label adds to the attractiveness of the gift set.

Ilpoom Jinro soju began selling at the Dubai International Airport in the UAE in August, raising awareness of Korean premium soju overseas.

The liquor was given awards at three top world spirit competitions, including the Monde Selection of Brussels and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. At the Monde Selection competition, it received the International High Quality Trophy twice.

HiteJinro launched 35 premium wine sets, including the Luxury Wine Set and the White House Dinner Wine Set, ranging in price from 50,000 won to 430,000 won.

The Luxury Wine Set includes Chile wine from the Viu Manent series, and the International Wine Challenge winner, William Randell Shiraz series.

For special wine lovers, there is the Artist wine set, crafted at the winery of Cantine Leonardo, home of Leonardo da Vinci in Italy. The White House wine set features the wines served at official dinners at the White House during the George Bush presidency.

“As customer interest in wine grows, we have launched diverse products. Top quality wines and the stories about their origin add distinctiveness to the gift sets,” said a company spokesman.

Also being offered is a limited edition of Rothschild Masterpiece sets, comprised of three bottles of the Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2009, Opus One, the first vintage of the partnership between Rothschild and U.S. winemaker Robert Mondavi, and the Almaviva, wine crafted after its joint venture with Chile’s winemaker Concha Y Toro. Only 36 Rothschild Masterpiece sets, priced at 3.38 million won ($2,900), will be available. Hyundai Department Store’s Mokdong branch is now receiving orders.
