SK E&C to build premium apartments in southern Seoul

SK Engineering & Construction (E&C) will soon break ground on a project in which it will build the most up-to-date style apartment complex in Daechi-dong, southern Seoul, the company said Wednesday.
The complex, Daechi SK View, is widely expected to draw thousands of bids from interested homebuyers seeking to make the best use of the superb residential and educational environments in Daechi-dong.
The builder will first demolish decades-old apartments and build four 20-story apartment buildings on the site with 239 housing units. The construction will be completed by June 2017, according to SK E&C.
The size of apartments will range from 59 to 125 square meters. Of the 239, 200 units have already been sold to those who used to live in the old apartments, while the remaining 39 will be on sale.
SK plans to accept bids for those units on Aug. 26 and winners will be chosen through a draw on Sept. 2. Those who win the draw are required to sign a contract on Sept. 8-10, by making a 10-percent down payment. The apartments are priced at 39 million won ($34,000) per 3.3 square meters.
“The Daechi SK View boasts of excellent residential and educational environments,” an SK E&C spokesman said. “Residents can go anywhere in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province conveniently through nearby Daechi Station on subway Line No. 3 and Dogok Station on the Bundang Line. The area also has extensive bus routes.”
He said Daechi-dong has a well-connected network of roads, with easy access to expressways and inter-city roads.
“Those residing in the Daechi SK View can also take advantage of hospitals, shopping malls and other residential facilities nearby. Above all, the neighborhood is full of highly-competitive elementary and secondary schools,” the spokesman said. “The area is also known as a cluster for university prep institutes. I think the living environment surrounding the complex will satisfy people of all ages.”
