Hyundai to launch new compact SUV

Hyundai Motor said Wednesday it will introduce a third-generation compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) in March to capitalize on the booming leisure vehicle segment.
The country’s largest automaker unveiled an exterior sketch of the “All New Tucson,” attracting keen attention from motorists, particularly those in their 20s and 30s who seek to drive SUVs at affordable prices.
Hyundai first launched the Tucson in 2004, and it became a popular model both at home and abroad. In 2009, it introduced an updated model Tuscon ix.
The All New Tucson will debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, according to the company.
“Our new compact SUV has a bold modern look with a refined urban style to meet the needs of increasingly sophisticated young motorists,” a Hyundai Motor spokesman said. “Its advanced power train system will provide a conformable and smooth ride. Motorists in their 20s and 30s will be its main buyers.”
The local compact SUV market has been heating up as automakers have introduced a series of new vehicles.
The QM3 from Renault Samsung Motor has been a huge hit since the SUV debuted early last year, while Ssangyong Motor launched its Tivoli in January, helping the Mahindra-owned carmaker to boost its domestic market share.
