Nanum Lotto wins global gaming award

Nanum Lotto, the nation’s exclusive lottery operator, has won the “2014 Best Emerging Responsible Gaming Program Award” at the World Lottery Association’s (WLA) biennial meeting in Rome, Italy.
The award honors a member certified to the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework (RGF) at level two or three, whose plans clearly demonstrate commitment to a vision and plan that realizes a world-class responsible gaming program.
The members qualified for the award are chosen from RGF level two and three certifications acquired in the past three years.
Out of 17 RGF certified candidates from around the world, Nanum Lotto won by a unanimous vote.
“What made Nanum Lotto the winner in the panel’s view was its determination to get its program right from the very beginning...a very thoughtful, systematic, already strategic approach,” said the chairwoman of the independent assessment panel, Maria Sillanpaa. “Nanum Lotto has built a very robust foundation from which the panel believes the lottery will make solid and fast progress.”
Nanum Lotto says it is committed to establishing a responsible gaming standard as its internal code of conduct is to protect, cure and educate lottery players through marketing campaigns and improving various lottery systems.
“As the area of responsible gaming has become crucial criteria for developing a successful and sustainable lottery business in today’s global lottery industry, we will continue our efforts to enhance the standard of the responsible gaming programs to make the lottery a sound and pleasurable leisure for everyone,” said Nanum Lotto CEO Yang Won-don.
The Korea Lottery Commission also said in a statement: “We are very proud to have received recognition from the WLA for the hard effort and dedication to our responsible gaming programs.”
