GM Korea to cut labor for restructuring

GM Korea Co., the local unit of U.S. General Motors Co., has started a voluntary retirement program for its workers in a bid to downsize its operations amid an economic slowdown, company officials said Tuesday.

Some 6,000 office and factory workers are subject to the retirement program that runs through Dec. 14, they said.
