Daewoo International wins $30 mln order from Indonesia

Daewoo International Corp., a Korean trading firm, said Thursday that it has won a US$30 million deal to provide medical equipment for an Indonesian hospital.

Under the deal with the Indonesian government, Daewoo International will supply approximately 250 items of medical equipment to Adam Malik Hospital in Medan, North Sumatra, the company said.

The project will be financed with Seoul's economic development cooperation fund (EDCF), the company said. The EDCF is a state-run fund aimed at helping poor and less-developed countries through loans that carry low interest rates.

Daewoo International, taken over in 2010 by Korea's leading steelmaker POSCO, is also involved in overseas energy development. (Yonhap)
