S-Oil helps children of fallen firefighters

S-OIL has donated 300 million won in scholarships for children of firefighters who died in the line of duty or retired due to on-duty injuries, as a part of its Hero Firefighters Support Program.

The refiner invited family of the firefighters to its headquarters in Mapo, downtown Seoul, Thursday to donate 3-million-won scholarships to 100 children of fallen or injured firefighters.

“We hope that this small donation, provided by our Hero Firefighters Support Program, can be a little encouragement and comfort to families of firefighters and serve as a stepping stone for children in firefighter families to have great hopes for their future, study hard under the warm love of society and grow into leaders of future society,” said S-OIL CEO Ahmed Subaey.

“As a faithful companion of firefighter families, we’ll continue to take the lead in stabilizing the living conditions of firefighters, the real heroes of our society, and raising the morale of firefighters.”

S-OIL has implemented the Hero Firefighters Support Program since 2006 to support firefighters who willingly sacrifice themselves to protect people and property in dangerous working conditions.

S-OIL annually awards prizes to exemplary firefighters, offers consolation money to injured firefighters and families of fallen firefighters, and carries out other diverse activities to help stabilize firefighter families’ living conditions and boost their morale.
