35% of people plan to buy iPhone 5, despite not knowing what features it will have
More than a third of consumers are planning to buy the iPhone 5 even though a release date has not yet been announced, the Daily Mail reported.
The Apple smartphone is thought to be coming out in the U.S. in September, with an international release the following month.
And despite having no idea what features the iPhone 5 will or will not have, a staggering 35 percent of people plan to buy it anyway, according to a survey of 2,852 U.S. customers.
iPhone, one of the biggest hits of Apple Co., holds 24.86 percent of the international mobile phone market share. This is a significant figure as unlike other competitors such as Android or Symbian, Apple is only selling the iPhone series.
Currently, Apple is developing its iPhone 5 after iPhone 4 made its debut in June 2010. Reports say that there will be new features in iPhone 5 such as 4-inch display with dual core system.
About 51 percent said they will buy it within a year after its release.
Interviewees also presented their ideas on possible improvements. Fifty-nine percent of respondents called for a better battery, followed by cost reduction (55 percent), 4G network capabilities (46 percent), a larger screen (45 percent), and an improved camera (42 percent), according to the newspaper.
