SK Innovation going all-out for environmental protection

SK Innovation, Korea’s biggest oil refiner, said Friday it will show its proactive role in protecting the environment in its new television advertisement starring polar bears.
“Do not use me in an advertisement. Do not look at me with sympathy if you aren’t able to protect me and my family” is the copy appearing with a polar bear which is apparently struggling to walk on thinning ice.
The ad then shows a dense forest with words that the company is preparing for “green innovation” with batteries for electric vehicles, eco-friendly plastics and clean coal energy. The clip accompanies a song sung by British all-boy vocal group Libera.
“Ads tend to tell the audience what do to for environmental protection while we emphasized the proactive role of businesses that want real green growth,” the firm said in a statement.
This is the first advertisement the firm has launched since SK Energy spun off its petroleum and chemical business and changed its name to SK Innovation.
