KCCI consoles Japan victims

Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik sent a letter to Tadashi Okamura, head of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to offer consolations for the neighboring country’s troubles.

Sohn said in the letter ``We feel very sorry for so many victims and losses caused by the earthquake and tsunami. On behalf of the Korean business community, we sincerely hope for a fast recovery.’’

The KCCI said that all of its 71 regional offices have collected donations in the wake of the quake and they will be sent to Japan this week.

In the meantime, the KCCI is checking how big the damage Korean companies suffered due to the Japanese disasters, especially in such vulnerable businesses as distributions, logistics and tourism, to come up with support for them.
