Renault Samsung CEO Named EUCCK Head

Jean Marie Hurtiger, the CEO of Renault Samsung Motors, has been appointed as the new president of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea (EUCCK).

His appointment was confirmed Tuesday at the chamber's Annual General Meeting and will take effect immediately.

``It is my firm ambition to help European companies be successful in Korea as well as supporting Korean companies in Europe,'' said Hurtiger, who has lived in Korea since 2006.

He added that Europe and Korea share many common characteristics, thereby making them ``natural partners in a globalized world.''

The EUCCK is the largest trade organization representing the European Union business community in Korea. It is made up of around 800 members.
